THE SANDALS -  PILGERSANDAL

"A new pair of shoes and you can travel the world," sang an old song. Step by step, the slow rhythm of the road, the pilgrim blessed the path upon which he carried his life. And beneath those sandals tailor-made for the foot destined to become "blessed," the earth clung fast, becoming the primary traveling companion with the infectious power of one who tells the story of where they come from and where they have been. These were sandals made to be worn out, destined to become the first guardians of a toil composed of blisters and callouses, but also of burdens dropped along the way, sowing the seeds of a desire for liberation and happiness. At the end they were the only true photograph the pilgrim could bring home upon his return, a way to show anyone who asked the true meaning of the journey he had undertaken.
