A beautiful message for pilgrims of every age: the hardness of stone meets the tenderness of God's mercy; the hard and cold heart of the penitent is embraced by the humble and warm heart of the Lord. And the stones give in.

The big ones, the obvious mistakes, and the small ones, the mistakes we overlook, when placed one on top of another, become heavy rocks that take away your breath. Stones carried to feel how sin makes life heavier. Stones carried to train the soul. And you learn to lift these weights in order to place your own weakness into the blessed embrace of God. Stones that are dropped as an act of surrender to give up every form of judgment. And fear gives way to peace.
